My sincere congratulations on Ohros’ beautiful musical.
As “lights” of the world, we as Ohros each seek for God’s will and to express positive influence and beauty through performing arts. Today we present to you a jukebox musical found from all our prayers, blood, sweat, tears, and laughter.
From the 6th to 12th graders, we gave our best in each of the assigned roles. And most of all, we found our creative direction through God’s plan, drawing each paint stroke accordingly.
We believe that the musical we share with you today goes beyond a single musical and beyond just arts.
And all of our Ohros members..
There have been countless worries and tribulations, sweat and tears.
However, we think that these are also a form of joy and passion in arts.
Happiness is not far away. It is near; right in front of you.
We hope that we’ll be able to see that happiness, that praise, that great message of God today.
With a world called “stage,” and diverse societies called “audiences,” we hope to synchronize our breath with yours.

Having been a successful Broadway Musical Theater actor for over 40 years, I can’t tell you how excited I got when I heard that Ohros was going to put on a show.
When I see young people enjoying the art of Musical Theatre, I am filled with joy.
It takes a lot of work and dedication to put on a musical.
But the reward is beyond imagination.
I’m so proud of the actors and crew of Ohros! (I love this name)

저는 40년 동안 브로드웨이에서 성공적인 연기자로서 오롷스가 공연을 한다는 것을 들었을때 얼마나 흥분이 됐는지 말로 표현할수가 없습니다.
어린 친구들이 공연예술을 즐겨하는것을 보면 너무나 행복합니다.
뮤지컬을 만드는데에는 많은 일과 노력이 필요 하지만 그것에 받는 보상은 상상치 못할만큼 큽니다.
저는 오롷스의 공연자들과 스태프들이 너무 자랑스럽습니다! (이름이 너무 마음에 드네요)

I think the meaning of this musical is unique because God was the Chief director, and this musical was similar to a diary following his will from beginning to end.
I pray that Ohros experienced how life became worship, how the musical became worship through this musical where glorifying God was a greater purpose than completion.
I thank God for inviting Ohros to a journal of extreme faith and Ohros for answering with extreme obedience.
I am very excited about how God the father will provide a message and be present in this musical.

Ohros는 2020년도에 만들어진 뮤지컬 팀으로 이름의 뜻은 히브리어로 “Lights, 빛들” 입니다.
성경에서는 빛이 물의 형태로도 많이 표현 됩니다. 이 세상에 꼭 필요한 빛과 물처럼 사람들에게 좋은 영향과 아름다움을 표현하고자 하는 공연 예술 팀입니다.
공연자들은 6학년부터 12학년 까지의 12명의 청소년들로 이루어진 팀이고 무대 예술(소품과 디자인)팀과 스텝들 모두 학생들로 이루어진 팀입니다.
리더를 제외한 모든 멤버들은 연기를 전공하려는 친구들이 아니지만 예술을 통해 주님의 아름다움을 전하고 싶은 그 마음 하나만으로 모인 예배자들 입니다.
Ohros is a musical team established in 2020. It has the meaning of “lights.” The Bible often describes “lights” with characteristics of water. So just as the world needs light and water we want to become a positive influence towards others, representing ourselves as a Christian performing arts team trying to express God’s magnificence. There are 12 performers ranging from 6th grade to 12th grade, and the staff, stage design, media team, and such are all made up of students. Other than the leader, the rest of the members are not professionals but we are united with the desiring heart of worshiping God.

Purpose & Background
저는 어릴 때부터 춤추고 노래하며 찬양하는 것을 아주 좋아하였습니다. 또한 저희 부모님의 영향력을 받아, 제가 하나님께로 부터 받은 달란트를 하나님을 위해 사용 할 때, 가장 빛이 난다는 것을 배웠고, 예술을 통해 예배 하는 것을 많은 사람들과 나누고 싶어, 오로스 (Ohros) 동아리를 만들었습니다.
친구들과 하나님의 음성을 들으며 뮤지컬을 만들어보고 싶었기에 모든 결정은 기도하며, 팀 이름부터 뮤지컬 줄거리, 그리고 오늘 우리에게 주시는 마음 등등 최대한 우리에게 주어진 시간 속에서 예배시간을 따로 떼어드려 항상 예배를 우선시 하였습니다.
또한 매일 zoom으로 만나 30분에서 1시간씩 공연을 위해 기도 하며 하나님께서 주시는 마음을 share 하였고 이런 예배와 기도로 인해 팀원들이 하나님과 가까운 교제가운데 우리 팀은 점점 서로를 사랑하고 배려하는 공동체가 되었기에 춤과 노래를 연습하면서 세상에 속한 것이 아닌 진정한 하늘이 기뻐하는 뮤지컬을 준비할 수 있었던 것 같습니다.
보통 뮤지컬이나 연극, 공연을 올린다고 하면 주로 관객들에게 어떠한 메시지를 전달하거나 기쁨을 주려고, 또는 모금과 후원을 위한 공연 등, 결과물에 의미를 두고 무대가 만들어지고 기획됩니다. 물론 공연의 결과도 중요하지만 이번 공연에는 과정에 조금 더 중점을 두고 준비 하였습니다.
예술도 다른 것들과 마찬가지로 나누면 나눌수록 기쁨이 배가 되고 2,3사람만 모여도 교회라 하신 하나님 말씀을 따라 주님 안에서 주님만을 위해 예배 드리는 공동체를 이루어, 이제는 저희가 준비한 것들을 나눌 시간이 되었습니다!
Ever since I was little, I loved to worship through singing, and dancing. I was also influenced by my parents and learned that the talents I received from God shined the brightest when used for God’s glory. My desire to share worship through performing arts with others led me to found Ohros. Because we wanted to make the musical by listening to God’s voice, everything was decided through prayer. From the team name to the musical synopsis, to even the desires of our heart. We took out a time of worship in every practice to prioritize God every time we met. We also met through Zoom for 30 to 60 minutes a day to pray for the musical and shared what God put in our hearts. I think it was because of all the experiences we had with God through the worships, and prayers, we were able to love and be considerate of one another. I think through becoming such a team, we were able to practice dancing and singing, not as the world does but preparing the musical in a way that God can truly be pleased with. Usually, when preparing for a musical, it is based on giving a message or entertainment to the audience, how to raise money and get support, and mostly centered on the ultimate result. The result is an important factor in preparing for a musical but this time, we focused more on the process. Like all things, the joy of creativity doubles when shared, and Matthews 18:20 says "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them." So as a community of believers praising God under the name of Christ, it is time for us to show what we have prepared.
About the Musical
저희 작품은 우정과 사랑, 용서와 화해 또 위로에 관한 이야기들을 다루는 뮤지컬 입니다. 서우와 유진이 라는 두 아이는 어릴 때부터 항상 같이 다니던 단짝 친구로 모든지 함께하며 평생 친구를 약속 할 정도로 서로 많이 아끼고 좋아합니다. 그러다가 유진이가 사랑에 빠지고 남자친구로 인한 타락하는데...
유진이의 배신과 갈등 속에서 하나님의 개입하심으로 서우는 하나님을 만나 하나님의 사랑을 알게 되고 그 사랑으로 유진이를 용서하며 유진이를 바꾸는 화해하는 따뜻한 결말을 가지고 있는 이야기 입니다.
Our musical is about friendship, love, and forgiveness. There are two kids named Seo Woo and Eugene. They have been close friends that did everything together since they were little. They cherish their relationship and promises each other to be friends forever. Eugene, however, falls in love and her boyfriend corrupts Eugene. In the midst of Eugene’s betrayal and conflicts, God intervenes and Seo Woo meets God. Seo Woo learns of God’s love and forgives Eugene through it. This also causes a change in Eugene and the story has a warm ending in which the two put the past behind them.

This number shows Seo Woo’s and Eugene’s highschool life. The song is bright but like most kids, we portrayed that school life is kind of boring.

What is this feeling
유진이와 서우가 쇼핑을 하면서 부르는 이 넘버는, 유진이가 첫 짝사랑을 경험 함으로 처음 느껴보는 낯선 느낌과 옆에서 지켜보는 서우 또한 처음 보는 유진이의 모습을 어색해 하는 느낌을 그린 넘버 입니다. 또 중간에 나오는 시민들, 장사꾼들이 유진이와 서우의 우정을 부러워 하는 것을 보아, 이 두 친구가 얼마나 친한지 짐작 할 수 있겠죠?
This number, where Eugene and Seo Woo are shopping together, shows Eugene feeling love for the first time. Eugene is not used to feeling such ways and Seo Woo is not sure how to react. There are also pedestrians and venders who are in awe of their friendship so the audience can imagine how close the two must be.

This number is Eugene’s solo. It portrays Eugene’s inner conflict of choosing between her boyfriend, who doesn’t like Seo Woo, and Seo Woo, who is her lifelong friend.

This number is when Seo Woo gets upset at Eugene for becoming more and more distant with her. It shows Eugene completely cutting her relationship with Seo Woo and deciding to hangout with her boyfriend’s group of friends. The number portrays the process of change in Eugene’s thoughts and emotions.

유진이가 일진 무리에 들어가고 난 후, 서우를 본격적으로 괴롭히는 것을 보여주는 넘버로 친구들 앞에서는 위험한 독약과도 같지만 선생님 앞에서는 세상 착한 천사와 같은 모습을 보여줌으로 유진이의 교활함과 그런 유진이에게 놀아나는 반 친구들의 반응을 그린 넘버 입니다. 이 넘버 속에서 서우의 아픔 또한 볼 수 있습니다.
This number shows how Eugene really starts to bully Seo Woo after joining the bullies. To her friends, she is poisonous, but in front of her teacher, she is like an angel. This shows how deceitful Eugene is and her classmates’ reactions. This number also gives insight to Seo Woo’s pain.

계속되는 유진이의 괴롭힘으로 서우가 힘들어 할 때, 엄마가 서우를 위로하며 상황을 보지 말고 상황위에 계신 하나님을 바라보자고 하자 정말로 천사들이 나타나서 서우에게 너는 혼자가 아니라고 격려하며 서우에게 다시 힘을 실어주는 넘버 입니다.
When Seo Woo is having a hard time through Eugene’s continuous bullying, Seo Woo’s mom comforts her by telling her to not look at the situation but to look towards God who’s above the circumstances. This number encourages and strengthens Seo Woo with angels appearing and surrounding her, telling her that she’s not alone.

서우가 이사 갈 때, 유진이의 대한 좋은 마음, 나쁜 마음 모두 정리하는 모습을 보여주는 넘버입니다. 이삿짐을 정리하다가 찾은 어릴적 앨범을 보면서 유진이와 추억을 회상하며 안 좋아진 관계로 안타까워 하지만 고난을 통해 만난 하나님께 감사하는 내용을 담은 넘버이기도 합니다.
This number shows Seo Woo organizing her feelings about Eugene as she packs her things to move. She finds an old album and reminisces her memories with Eugene. Seo Woo thinks about how unfortunate things have turned but is thankful that she met God through the hardships.

서우가 전학 갈 학교에 다니는 퀸카 로아가 첫 등장하는 곡이자, 로아가 잘나가는데도 불구하고 자신의 속마음을 털어 놓을 “진짜 친구”를 원하는 속마음을 그린 넘버이고 서우가 전학 온다는 소리를 듣자 서우가 자신의 절친이 될것이라는 기대감으로 기뻐하는 넘버 입니다.
This song is where Lora, the queen of the new school Seo Woo is going, makes her first appearance. This number shows how Lora, despite her popularity, is looking for a real friend to talk deeply with. The number also depicts Roa’s excitement of making a best friend when she hears that a new student is coming.

서우가 로아와 같이 다니기로 하긴 하였지만 인기가 많은 로아를 보자, 자신이 초라하게 느껴지면서 유진이와 같이 또 따돌림 당할까봐 두려워 할 때, 로아가 겉모습이 아니라 내면이 중요하다는걸 알려주며 서우도 자신감을 가질 수 있게 도와주는 넘버 입니다.
Seo Woo and Lora decide to hang out together in school but Seo Woo feels tiny compared to Lora’s popularity. It reminds Seo Woo of past traumas of how we got bullied. However, Lora tells Seo Woo that it is what’s on the inside that counts, and helps Seo Woo to gain confidence.

서우가 학교생활에 잘 적응 하고 좋은 시간을 보낼 때, 유진이가 자신이 하지 않은 일로 서우가 다니는 학교로 강제 전학을 오게 되자 서우는 유진이를 보자 다시 힘들었을 때가 떠올라서 힘들어하지만 엄마와 로아의 격려로 상황을 바라보는것이 아니라 상황 위에 계신 하나님을 바라보자고 결심하게 됩니다.
As Seo Woo is getting used to school and is having a good time, Eugene is blamed for something she didn’t do and is forced to transfer coincidentally to Seo Woo’s school. Seo Woo becomes worried in memories of the past but through the encouragements of her mom and Roa, Seo Woo decides to not focus on the circumstances but to focus on God who is above it all.

유진이가 전학오고 난 후 점점 부풀려져 가는 소문으로 따돌림을 당하고 왕따가 되어 갈 때, 서우가 유진이를 도와주자 유진이는 서우에 대한 미안함 마음과 자신에게 잘 해주는 서우가 이해가 가지 않아 화를 내는데, 서우가 자신이 만난 하나님에 대해 이야기 하며 유진이를 위로하자, 유진이가 용서를 구하고 서로 화해하는 넘버 입니다.
After Eugene’s transfer, the rumor gets bigger and bigger and Eugene is being avoided by others. When the avoidance is turning into bullying, Seo Woo comes and helps Eugene. This number shows Eugene feeling sorry towards Seo Woo. Eugene is not able to understand why Seo Woo is being kind to her so she yells at Seo Woo in frustration. But Seo Woo comforts Eugene by telling her how she met God and Eugene asks for forgiveness, ending with the two finally making up.
